Having burned away winter yesterday (see here and here), today we went for a Sunday drive to see a Luxembourgish castle. On the way there, we stumbled across (no joke!) a second castle. Unfortunately, it was Sunday and off-season, so we just had to wander around the outer fortifications, but not too shabby for a 45-minute drive. Here's a quick visual tour.

We rounded a corner, and this was just staring us in the face, all like, "What? Am I not good enough for you?" We practically skipped down Rue du Pain (Street of Bread) and up the crumbling steps, we were so elated.

It's called Chateau Larochette, which I can only assume is named after my favorite actor on Night Court (except for Bull, of course).

Star likes castles. Two months ago, neither of us had ever really seen one. We're a little spoiled.

Storming the castle.

Borscheid Castle--our "actual destination." I wish we had a picture to do justice to how this thing just reigns imperiously over the valley below.

Tower of Power. This picture makes me think of Mumford & Sons' "Lover of the Light."

Not too shabby...and the castle is nice too.

A fiefdom? A kingdom? A governance? Or just a really nice backyard?
